Granny Weatherwax Theme

Postby engineeringsimon » Mon May 14, 2012 4:24 am

As a bit of fun, I wrote a little piece of music inspired by Granny Weatherwax in "Wyrd Sisters" etc.

I thought someone here might appreciate it...

Thanks everyone. I've only just started the great trek through the series. Currently up to Pyramids. These books were popular when I was in early high school, but I didn't read them then. I think a lot of the best stuff would have gone over my head then.

I'll have to find another scene or character to write a tune for ...

I want to try and play this tune, do you mind if I try arranging it for the piano? I'm afraid I don't have a bassoon, an oboe, or three other people available :D (Of course, if it sounds terrible, I'll keep it to myself)

Go for your life. I'm honoured that you think it's good enough :)

I'd love to see the arrangement once it's done.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I thought the bassoon and oboe had the right "grumpy" feel to them, with Esme's unconventional improvisations being indicated by the "Recycled Percussion". I thought the marimba lent a little bit of magic feel. Maybe I'm rambling. Too much Headology.

I've recently (within the past couple months) had the pleasure to have been immersed in a world full of wonderful fanmade music. from glorious instrumental to techno, dubstep to rock, and everything inbetween. I can't help but admire the talent and dedication that gets put into it, even if there isn't always the polish you get from a studio made thing there is a passion there that can't be ignored. so its always a pleasure to hear more.

what program do you use?
