And let me tell you..... it has to be pretty damn interesting to catch an Aussie kids attention when it comes to spiders.

Dear god Jason, that looks big enough to be someone's pet! We had a big, fat, black jumping spider in the house last week. I tried to get a picture of it, but they came out blurry. Saw him in the living room, he disappeared for a couple of days, then heard the girls making a commotion upstairs one night - they'd found him. Thing 1, being the bug enthusiast that she is, just scooped him up with her bare hands and took him outside to set him free.

Love the hot dog octopus! Derek will make those for the girls and put them on a "sea" of mac & cheese. If he's feeling really creative and we have it on hand, he'll add some food coloring to make the sea blue or green.

When I was a Beaver Scout leader, one of the favourite things I used to get the kids to make was chocolate spiders. You got one of those Teatime chocolate covered marshmallows, eight bits of that skinny red licorice (for the legs) and stuck on two Smarties (for the eyes).
