As Tony said, that framed photo didn't really show the color (glass distorts). Here's the same picture minus glass:

And here's one based on a photo I took at the Mission San Xavier del Bac of our "purple cactus:

This is taken at the botantical gardens - the butterfly is on a flowering plant called the Mexican Bird of Paradise.

Thanks for the compliment Antiq. That's the effect I was trying to get. On a different note (or shade) perhaps:

I'm very flattered--assuming you consider O'Keeffee as great as I do. You're much too kind!

Wow   I love the colours, the simple but efficient shapes... The first one you posted has an almost abstract effect that is lovely. And colour pencils? it must have taken *ages*

As for me, I has a website now  The English version of the portfolio isn't ready yet, but since it's mostly pictures, I hope it doesn't matter too much :)

Thanks Meer--I did two of these Aspen pictures. Am thinking one will probably go up on the Jigsaw Board as a puzzle. Anyhow, here's the other one.

Image

I called it Snowey Aspens (the other is offically Aspens in the Snow). And here's another picture that was next to it in the file on my computer.

This one is the most realistic of the the night saguaro pictures I've done--so called Moonlit Saguaro

I'm probably going to put in some of the original artwork for our playing cards... :D
