Discworld Beers

Hello Folks,

We're developing a set of 4 Discworld Beers and need your help.

The four beers will each be inspired by one of the students, graduates, professors of UU. Think of them if you will as the illicit underground home brew creations in the UU boat house brewery of Ponder et al.

Each will be a different beer style - an oatmeal stout, an pale ale using Aus hops, a golden beer and a blonde beer. But, I am looking to you lot for suggestions for the name of each beer and a wizard who would have brewed it.

The beer will be bottled and available on draft in pubs around the UK. In addition, we can deliver internationally.

We have a team of designers standing by to turn your ideas into reality and those that get choosen will receive a very special reward from us.

So, get those thinking caps on, and post here!

Wish i knew more about beer. so forgive any ignorance.

Wizard suggestions i would have Rincewind, Ponder Stibbons (I'd say for the weakest, lightest beer), Arch-chancellor Mustrum Ridcully (the darkest, richest beer), and the Bursar.

and for some reason having the Bursar's beer be called Winkles Old Peculiar flashed into my mind and won't leave.

Librarian's (L-Space) Lager

Ponder's Ponderous Pale Ale (or Porter)

There has already been a Winkles Old Peculiar made, I have a bottle of it There have been lots of Discworld beers and beer glasses as Ales By Mail have (or at least had) the rights to use the Discworld names on beers. Terry is very touchy about anyone else using his characters or any Discworld references on commercial products.

Sorry, Ales By Mail is my company . We have the rights and Terry has, of course, the final decision on the names used following this selection process.

BTW - if we use one of your suggestions, we'll send you some of the beer free and some other goodies too!
