And the funny thing is, they ALL work, are never vandalised and accept all kinds of bank notes.

Smart thinking. Quick, easy, no appeal.

In Ohio, we had them declared unconstitutional.

That's great wish we could do that here

I'm glad the Founding Fathers were so farsighted.

Are they only unconstitutional in Ohio or in the entire US of A?

Nah - they've certainly got them in parts of Arizona. :(

Ohio only, I believe.

A local town set up traffic cameras to catch speeders. Catching speeders is good.
The cameras were deemed unconstitutional on 2 fronts.

1) Entering into a for-profit contract with a corporation outside of law enforcement whose express purpose is generating revenue is not in the public interest.

2) Every accused person, no matter what they're accused of, has the right to face their accuser. Since no one could "face" the camera, out it went.

Bet it was front page news in Ohio, and they probably had to relegate their main story "Dog Escapes", to page 2.

One reason to migrate to Ohio  I almost never break the speed limit but I get occasionally tickets for speeding at 124km/h which is 4km/h above the speed limit :x That really annoys me

A sidebar issue was raised during the proceedings which is exactly that.

What happens when you get a speeding ticket?
Your insurance goes up!

Who benefits?
The insurance companies?

Who has a huge, worldwide lobby?
Insurance underwriters!
