Reality tv just makes me want to, well, switch the tv off (in an aggressive manner, but not too aggressive, because it's my tv after all). But I do think that people who watch soaps religiously often get a bit confused about what's real and what's pretend.

I have the feeling that some members of my family got their social skills from watching soaps. It'd explain a lot. :?

Don't worry, it'll probably turn out to be just a dream in the end. ;)

J.R. was great! :D Not sure how good this new thing will turn out though. Will Sue Ellen appear as well??

Dallas was always the King of the Soaps (well the international ones anyway) and I'm saying that without my soap addict hat on (because Corrie is King then ;) )

Dallas was like Soap the comedy which probably justifies it as a Black Comedy Soap because of JR and Bobby and Swellen (and Booby (Bobby's wife Pammie) for the blokes) and their knowing portrayals of the bolshie warring oil barons and the positively machiavellian family feuds. It was a huge glorious parody of itself and the 'Who Killed JR' phenomenon was quality populist/sensationalist TV and classic in a way that reality TV never can be, because that cliffhanger was utter perfection despite being perfectly and unbelievably crappy conceptually, simply because it was so cynical and hyped to death and resurrection.

Larry Hagman is a comedy god and if he's agreed to return to the role with script approval I'm fully prepared to be addicted all over again - and I barely watch an hour of TV all day every day so I'm really fussy what soaps I am prepared to watch. :D

I believe that the following are in it:

Larry Hagman - JR Ewing
Patrick Duffy - Bobby Ewing
Lynda Gray - Swellin (who still looks stunning at 61)
Charlene Tilton - Lucy "Poison Dwarf" Ewing
Steve Kanaly - Ray Krebbs
Ken Kercheval - Cliff Barnes

There have been ten episodes commissioned, and Ken Kercheval is in three of them. Presumably Larry H. and Patrick D. are in all.
