Mervyn was a superb player, and was the captain of the Grand Slam team of 1976.

mervyn was my coach when i played for hendy he was one hell of a story teller and will be sorely missed :cry: :cry:

Yeah it was painful to watch. I know it was slippery but how did they manage to drop the ball that much?

I thought Ireland made life difficult for the English, for the first 20 minutes. After that, England were the better team by far!

Perhaps the Irish had been celebrating St Patrick's Day, and were feeling the effects???
