I concur. What could have easily have made them crappy turned out to be their better features.

I hate Amy not because of the whole romance thing, but because she seems to be too bland as a companion. At first, I thought this was due to Karen Gillian's acting, but after watching The Girl Who Waited, I realised her acting wasn't the problem, it was the f***ing material she was given. Gillian is capable of acting pretty damn well, but it seems like not enough thought has been put into her character, and Amy is beginning to remind me of another red-headed companion...

One of the best things about Donna was the Doctor's reaction to her! I love Amy and Rory, but I agree with Q. They don't give Amy much range, you just keep getting more of the same.

What I find most irritatiing about both Matt and Karen's performances are that they speak way too fast and mumbly and I'm forever having to rewind the scene to try and hear what they have said.

I agree and I also think that Rory is hardly ever in it even though he's been on it for 2 whole seasons now

No Rory wouldn't continue travelling without Amy.What they should do is kill Rory and Amy and regenerate the Doctor.

I think Jack was basically into anything that moved, over the age of consent, and could give consent (look at Chantho in the Doctor Who episode Utopia). Captain John...isn't so discerning. Though to be fair, the Doctor (in the novels) has encountered a race of evil, sentient poodles.
