Anyone going to be traversing the wilds of Skyrim over the weekend?

Wants it now but STILL not got round to completing Oblivion.

Might wait for the inevitable GOTY version and I have just enough of a system to run it so an upgrade might be on the cards first.....

Fantastic game, I'm really enjoying it even though I only started it this afternoon. :D

Oh yes, this game is incredible!

Unfortunately, I decided it best to ban myself from it. But only until I have the time to invest into the land where time stands still - that is, until you look at a clock and weep. This was after finding myself awake until 5am, after spending an hour trying to climb a cliff that was, of course, completely impossible to climb! My sleepy brain is a stubborn one...

What races are you playing? I made a rather dashing dark elf in memory of my character from Oblivion.

I'm relatively new to the Elder Scrolls although I did try Oblivion (got bored and hated the levelling up system). As a result I'm playing a Redguard (uncomplicated and straight forward) concentrating on dual-wielding one-handed bladed weapons and stealth. He's becoming a bit ninja-ish, to tell the truth and already has a katana that causes fear in opponents under level 12. I've let this drain as I can't keep up with the buggers when they run away!

The one drawback I have about the game, however, is that I hate playing wizards and try to do without all the alchemy/enchanting malarkey, or indeed bothering with spells. I suspect that this will come back to haunt me later in the game.

I don't have many powerful spells right now and I'm not so keen on alchemy either, but I do have a huge ax.

I find the controls are a bit harder to use than Oblivion's were, but I love the new inventory system and the story is infinitely better. So far I think Skyrim is a beautiful, amazing game.

I won't be playing the game until Christmas, but this video>> http://youtu.be/bnNcyY6zQYw has me looking forward to it with ridiculous levels of anticipation. Mostly because I'm an immature idiot.

Turns out I completed Oblivion in March (main story and expansions as well as over 200 side quests) so no excuses now

Apart from the other games I haven't started yet.....

Either use the map to fast travel (must have visited location before) or orientate yourself towards the stables/main gate by the blacksmiths. There is quite a bit to do in that town and i would recommend being at least level 8 before you venture out i to the wilds.
