Still don't see the appeal and can't understand any of the arguments for em.

My argument, is it allows me to add books to my collection and keep them in perfect condition as I can read the novels on the Kindle

Gloves and a feather to turn the pages would do as well

but what about creases to the spines for paperbacks etc :P

Why buy paperbacks

I knew you would say that, as I collect all versions

Heh, everybody is so careful with the books :) For me books have always been things to be used, not collected, so creases in paperback books are just signs of love and use. For that reason never really preferred hard covers, they are such a pain to carry with you on your adventures. For me a book is a pal on the road which you can carry in your backpack or in your pocket. As it happens, with the electrimified e-inky gadgettrons I can carry a whole party with me :D

Well I enjoy reading books just as much as none kindle fans but I also like to see my collection in perfect condition, it adds value to the collection, nothing worse then having a battered book in a collection, fair enough if your not bothered but it does me, that is why the Kindle is a godsend.

I have a copy of the book snuff and i also have the kindle UK version and i NEVER experienced any of those errors at all. I love paper books but some of us have to resort to kindles because of eye problems ETC it's not always by choice but i must say i am happy with mine :)

I found the footnotes process interesting in Snuff. Scroll down to the footnote number and click on it and you are taken to the appropriate footnote at the end of the book. Click on the back button and you're back where you left off.

That's the only bit I found fiddly with the Kindle - the footnotes.

And Robert Rankin's a bugger for them as well.
