What is a slipcase cover ?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, naked, drunk and on fire screaming YEEHAAW ! . . . .

That was what I wondered the first time I heard of them.

It's basically a book that slides into a sleeve in much the way VHS videos did. See here.

Also there are usually limited editions and become more expensive to buy from sellars.

I went to the Waterstones at Meadowhall and order myself a slipcase edition, I asked the manager and she said all stores will be getting a limited stock of them by Wednesday at the latest.

Good Hevening! Dear denizens of the Deep Pratchett and that Ilk.

I'm beset with temptation, today I went into Waterstones and seen this vison of loveliness, should I or should I not give into temptation the mind is boggling, Hmmnnn!! decisions, decisions. :) the Blue one is the slipcase edition.

I got the gold one on the right. Didn't know there were different editions.

Is it just me being cynical, or does this smack of the publisher (and Terry to a degree) trying to screw as much money out of the poor reader as possible, by publishing every story in so many different formats that the true collector "has" to get them all?
Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.

The rest of us are a bit crap.
