I love GP, MM, Soul Music, Pyramids, and Moving Pictures.

Didn't like Nation, and thought UA was a bit meh.

I liked Nation, but found UU a bit difficult, I really think it could have done with actually being a bit more about football. I haven't read some of the others mentioned since they first came out, so I'm tempted to go back and read MM as I don't remember it being awful Maybe I'm just easily pleased, I can live with that

that was one of the issues i had with UA. i was a bit disappointed it wasn't more of a sports story send up. not that i prefer that sort of thing but the way it was described thats what i had in mind.

Why is it I love some of Terry's book and yet others I find tedious...... the last books I found readable were Going Postal and Making Money but Nation and I shall wear midnight are terrible... and unseen academicals not very good either even though it had a few interesting parts.

I think it is because I prefer books with less mysticism in them.

The watch series had more action adventure and sleuthing in them.

Mspanners, I'll support you totally on Going Postal and Making Money (which, although it had many problems was far more readable than UA and Snuff) and your opinions on UA and Nation (which was just too long, overwritten and derivative for me to really get into). I don't are with you I Shall Wear Midnight, however. Even though I found the ending a little too pat, I thought it was the best Tiffany book since Wee Free Men.

Personally, I find many DW books to be of (relative to Pterrys best work) lower quality and/or unreadable. All of the RIncewind books were a tedious slog for me, and most of the books before Mort aren't particular memorable. As, now since Pooh's back, I feel happy in throwing out my usual "Pyramids sucks!" bait.

I liked makeing money and going postal. just about to start UA. so fingers crossed.

soul music and maskerade both took 2 or 3 read throughs but now i love them.

Hogfather and the truth are both books i have neaver realy goten in to.

i hated wee free men. dont know why. i have tryed to read it 3 or 4 times. neaver got more than half way through.

I see a lot of dislike for snuff on here, which i'm quite surprised about.

Maybe i'm biased as usual, what with it being a watch novel, but I was really impressed by snuff as I've said before, now on my 3rd or 4th read through.

However i do go with the popular consensus on Making Money, I really loved Going Postal but MM was a big disappointment for me, especially the, (at least by my perception) change in Adora Dearhearts personality, and the, sort of, side story involving Cosmo Lavish and his poorly thought out transformation into Vetinari.

But, as usual, this is all just my opinion!

The 3 books I don't care for are The Colour of Magic,The Light Fantastic and Thud.I don't mind Making Money as it was the first Terry Pratchett book I read and I love all the others
