Misheard lyrics

Postby Batty » Mon Jun 29, 2009 12:50 pm

As people on this forum obviously like their music, I was wondering if any of you have misheard any lyrics?

For years I used to sing 'I believe in milko'. I never understood the lyric but I was quite young at the time! I onl;y found out a few years ago that the lyric is 'I believe in Miracles' ...

Then there is Stings Message in a Bottle lyric - 'The years have gone since I broke my nose' ...

Also; the complaint about the English weather in a seaside town; 'Sodden Leigh on Sea' ...

Was Paul Simon really singing about a big cat that he befriended and named? - 'You can call Miaow'?

Any others?

There's a bit in in Handel's Messiah that I used to think they were singing "And his name shall be Colin"
"Goodness is about what you do. Not what you pray to."

I swear there's a line in Sister Sledge's We Are Family that goes "we're giving love in a femidom"

What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Now I am going to think of that line everytime I hear that song! Thanks, Tony. Brilliant!

Madonna. La Isla Bonita. There's a line which says "Tropical, the island breeze", but which sounds very much like "Chop the goolie...".

Roxanne: I always understood "Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red legs". Still don't really understand that part.
