Wee Free Men Movie?

Postby poohbcarrot » Fri Jun 26, 2009 6:02 am

This was part of the blurb for something on ebay. Is it true?

"Paperback uncorected proof (advance readers edition) of the Terry Pratchett novel Wee Free Men. Brand new unread condition! Published by Harper collins in the USA.

This is an excellent investment as a film is in pre-production at the moment! The Director will be Sam Raimi who has done the Spiderman films!"

I thought Terry stoped them making it. I'm not really sure.

I'm going to need a swat team, ready to mobilize, street maps covering the whole of florida, a pot of coffee, 12 jammy dodgers and A FEZ.

Hmmm :? Beware of e-bay speak - what film? Could it be the one we've been told is being talked about for Going Postal was it?
That's 'a' film isn't it...?

I've read that the film was planned, but nothing's happened since. So I guess he stopped it. Maybe he doesn't want a hollywood film about discworld.

This was put in IMDB.com a couple of years ago, IIRC.

They took the option on the book and were due to start when Sam Raimi was free (or at least cheap) maybe due to the recession it has a hiccup. :(
