Because just the other day you said you were an antisocial misanthrope and other such things.
Then there might be the problem of too literal a translation. In German you can say "Don't eat me!" when the opposite is angry or rude towards you. For some reason I can imagine you to get upset when interviewers start to ask stupid questions or similar things. Hene the "Don't eat the interviewer."
Didn't know about chewing the scenery, which added to my confusion.
