New Discworld games?

I think the Discworld would lend itself more to MMORPG like Worlds of Warcraft rather than a GTA style game.

(ScummVM development version now supports DW 1 & 2 PC and PSX versions also there is a start to add support for DW Noir to Residual)

the silver horde taking on anybody gta style.

i think discworld could be used for any type of game even sports ie on the wii you could have a broom race or sword play or pike bashing or how about coo or ships stealing think its a bit endless but all good.

I dont know what MMORPG means although I guess RPG is role playing game
I dont know what GTA is - possibly T= tactical

i have no idea who ScummVM are - or what DW Noir is - hang on - Ahh I am accreting knowledge here - it, like so much jargon, LOOKS complicated but actually isn't.

Ah right MMORPG is like Worlds of Warcraft an online role playing game.
GTA is a sandbox game so you have free reign to do what you line within a virtual world.

ScummVM is a program that allows you to play 2D old adventure games on operating systems they were not designed for (http://www.scummvm.org)

Residual is a program that currently allows you to play Grim Fandango on operating systems they were not designed for but in the future will work with other games (http://residual.sourceforge.net)

Not as far as I'm aware. There's Thud! and there was talk of a Hogfather game, but that doesn't seem to have materialised. I imagine it would be quite easy to make a Discworld version of Monopoly - "Go to the Tanty - do not collect AM$200".

I think discworld could be good as a game by lionhead studios (the people who made fable and fable2) or as a puzzle game on nintendo ds like professor layton, using the touch screen for clicking, like in DW 1&2...

I don't think Discworld would benefit well from becoming an MMORPG. A sandbox game would be interesting, but I'm not sure how well it would go down. Personally, I'm becoming more interested in game development myself, and if anybody would like to work with me to do some Source modding, we could come up with something...

The trouble is turning it into a sandbox game would take them lots of time and money too do it.
