It's never really explained what happens to Rinso after Eric. We next meet him on a desert island along with the Luggage in Interesting Times.

yeah, that is kinda a gaping hole, in my opinion.

lots of questions I have there.

where did Eric go?

how did Rincewind finally manage to shake him off?

and how on earth did he end up on that island?
gee I hope you guys have no thread digging policies, cos I'm just going to keep digging up ones I like.

Oh, that's simple: The gate out of hell led for each of them somewhere else.

That was the impression I got as well, meeps. And don't worry about digging up old threads Gal, since new insights are always welcome (I have no idea what happened to Eric afterwards, either). :D

Fanon-wise he's likely part of Adrian's research group at Brazeneck by now...

Yeah yeah! :roll:

Actually... you know how I am NOT good with names? I still can't believe I am calling Perestroika, Gal..... though once I had to scan back to recall it :D

So.... to the newbies on the site reading this....

Plinfod = Penfold (aka Penners)
Meeps = LilMaibe
Gal = Perestroika
Smartarse = PoohCarrot (aka Poohsie-woosie=big-soft-marshmallow-calling-Lil-Meeps)

Gal. The thing I LOVE about newbies is them digging up long lost threads.

As said, I think the gate opened for him at a different place than it did for Eric. Remember the steps (the whole, the way to hell is pathed etc thing?) if we look at it from that perspective the entrance to hell is where one feels well and starts trying to 'improve' the world because he feels well.
Well, Rinso's not someone trying to improve it, but the path still led him up to where he'd feel best.

Thank you. I have too much time on my hands that I have the time to actually think about the books that much. Heck, I even managed to write a full biography for Ponder...

I'm reading Eric at the moment. There is in fact a Circle of Hell in goes to Psuedopolis, where Eric lives. That's how Rincewind got there in the first place. :)
