You are totally right though when you say Doctor Who is not a kids programme I don't miss an episode and I was 34 yesterday. Also it seems to have gone a bit dark recently and the silence scared me quite a bit.

Black and white sets also tended to be lower resolution in those days, helping to hide the more obvious joins in the sets.

Me and Kay (my bestie as a small child and the daughter of the man who owned one of the only two TV sets in town) watched the whole of our first encounter with Dr Who and the Daleks from behind her couch and the wall with a blanket over our heads clutching each other in terror!

What? Even the "Wiggles Daleks"? The multi-coloured ones? I thought they were going to be playing it bigtime since they arrived. What are they going to do with the Dalek Colouring In Books now?
