There's a Sarah Jane Advrnture on the iPlayer at the moment - Death of the Doctor, that has Katy Manning (Jo Grant) in as well as Matt Smith.

I think Katy has overdone the botox though.

Shame she is gone. Perhaps God couldn't wait for a new Dr Who and was getting the old cast members together for a one off special.

I'm absolutely shell-shocked about this.

I read on Digital Spy that the BBC/Doctor Who producers are planning "something appropriate" as a tribute to her before/after Saturday's episode.

I hope they include Nicholas "The Brigadier" Courtney in that, as well.

I read this in the paper this morning when I got home from work. I still find it hard to believe even now. RIP Liz. I really hope the BBC do a fitting tribute to her on Saturday.

Dunno what Katy Manning did to her face, but agreed, though she actually looks worse in some of the DVD documentaries. I watched one last year and was absolutely shocked.

I saw it last night, though it took too long to load. But I remember watching a documentary on one of the DVDs, I think it might have been Changing Time (for The Hand of Fear, Sarah's last story as a companion in the classic series) where Tom Baker discusses his relationship with Liz Sladen. It's rather poignant now.

Barry Letts, Nicholas Courtney, and now Liz Sladen. They're all going.

You are right it is very sad Q BUT on the flip side, some very good new talent is rising! Personally I think this lad is one to watch. He's brilliant.

The BBC have announced that there will be a special programme broadcast this coming Saturday, called My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen. The show is due to be shown on the CBBC channel at 6:45pm, directly after Doctor Who finishes on BBC1 and before Doctor Who Confidential on BBC3 at 7:00pm. There will also be a dedication to the actress at the start of Saturday's episode, The Impossible Astronaut.

Elisabeth Sladen created one of Doctor Who's best loved and most enduring characters, Sarah Jane Smith. For over 35 years she brought the feisty, compassionate journalist to life, creating a figure that was adored by audiences of all ages - truly a heroine whose appeal had no boundaries.

This 15 minute programme is both a tribute and a celebration of Elisabeth Sladen. It brings together stories from friends and colleagues and draws on a rich archive of material to remind us of Sarah Jane's journey, from companion to the Third Doctor to the central character in CBBC's award-winning The Sarah Jane Adventures.
