An Idea

Postby Shade » Tue Apr 19, 2011 9:51 am

Hello,

For many years I have the idea that I am 'missing' something from the Discworld: A Tarot

Is there a possibility that one might be released one day, maybe with the art of Paul Kidby?

Greetings

A few of the guys on the site worked on designing a deck of cards at one point as shown in the following thread -

http://www.terrypratchett.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2156&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=deck+cards

Not sure on a kidby version but would be cool

:D

They are known as Caroc Cards on the Disc and I don't think there has ever been a serious attempt to make a pack.

Welcome to the site, Shade. :)

Welcome Shade!

As a collector of Tarot cards, and doing the odd reading, I'd be delighted to get a set of Caroc Cards! They could go with my Lord of The Rings Tarot!

I wonder if the Cunning Artificer has ever thought of it?

The discworld Tarot

Postby AgProv » Thu Aug 18, 2011 3:08 pm

Errr...

a bit of blatant self-publicity here. (And why not?)

I can't draw to save my life, but I did write a Discworld Tarot, or at least a Major Arcana thereof.

Under ny pen-name of A.A. Pessimal:-

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6697660/1/The_Discworld_Tarot

Some characters are only just marginally canonical and exist as one-line references in Pratchett's work: their appearances here are down to my fleshing them out a bit with intelligent guesswork. [/quote]
Used to be too clever by half, but by virtue of consistent drinking, now only too clever by about a quarter. Banned from all BBC messageboards for being too much of an "uncceptable editorial risk".
