Does anyone have a copy of a discworld short story they would be willing to lend or sell to me? I can't find a copy of any of them anywhere. If they are available free, can someone tell me where?

Some of them are officially available online, such as:

Death and What Comes Next.
Theatre of Cruelty

There are others online, but not necessarily legally - be careful if you intend going to sites you are unsure of.

The best source is Once More With Footnotes but as that book is notoriously difficult to find and expensive when you do then looking for second hand copies of the original books is probably easier and definitely cheaper

Keep meaning to ask this but forget, does anyone have a description or picture of the book of FootnotesFootnotes? Particularly the spine. Just in case i am lucky enough to spot it in a charity shop, so I can easily identify it from the shelf. I know what the cover looks like but is it big or small, hardback or paperback?

Cheers Tony! I could never tell from amazon and ebay the size of the book. I know my chances of finding the book are slim!

On the spine does that just say Terry Pratchett?

Your wish is my command, it's the same size as most standard hardbacks and this has a better picture of the spine for you.

Probably sold, yes, but I reckon council rates go towards pay. I mean, council rates have got to pay for something useful, it might as well be library staff... :roll:

Actually, I'll go and look at the library bookshop tomorrow. Maybe they might have it there still.

Mad - is that an actual first edition of Colour of Magic, or is it the facsimile?

If it's the real first, you've got a few quid's worth of books there. :shock:

Don't reckon it's the real one coz I'm pretty sure Mad said he had it, but kept it in a safety box (or something like that).

It is an actual first in the facsimile dustwrapper. The original dustwrapper is so damaged and fragile I don't leave it on the book and as the facsimile came with two dustwrappers I had a spare

. The Light Fantastic is the facsimile.
