I wish my ex had done that it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper

Hat Full of Sky is a really, really good book.fids wrote:In the last 2 weeks I've read Men at Arms and Guards Guards, in that order, bloody libary![]()
Prior to that it was all the Tiffany books, something very uplifting and spiritual about them I think, I must confess some parts of Hatfull of sky sky left me a bit, um, emotional.
It looks like a few of us have that in common.raisindot wrote:deldaisy wrote:Oh yeah Mad... know where you are coming from hun. I play my wedding video backwards....

How coincidental...that's exactly the same thing that happens with me in mine!

I have to say, this has entered my Top 5 Discworld books I think and is definitely the sharpest 'witches' book I've read so far. Everything works; Granny and Nanny are great (particularly in their 'roles'), Agnes Nitt is a really likeable new character, Walter Plinge, Henry Slug, Salzella and their alter egos are great fun, you've got some of the Watch in there, the Librarian makes an appearance...it just all works.
It's a fusion of everything - kind of like Wagnerian Opera I guess. With the number of characters in this book from different story arcs and the witches in unfamiliar territory I suppose there was a danger this could have just become a collage, but it's a good, tight story.
Carpe Jugulum up next...
