Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Postby Wolfy » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:55 pm

Anyone here read Diary of a Wimpy Kid? I thought it was a good mixture of comic book and kids books. My brother rarely reads and he has gotten into this series, so i think this is great! I am not a huge fan of the movie, but I must say that the books were pretty well written and the pictures were ok as well.

Hi Wolfy. :P

Just out of interest, why does your signature say "center"? :?
"Disliking Carrot would be like kicking a puppy."
"You kicked a puppy," Lobsang said accusingly.

I imagine wolfie was trying to 'centre' the text - but that code doesn't work on this site. :P

If he'd spelled it centre instead of center, would that have helped? :?

Not read it but went to see it at the pictures with my lad. I didn't rate it at all. My boy thought it was just about okay. Hasn't made him want to get the book though so it's a shame if the books are better.

I think Diary of a Wimpy Kid is too childish and it's quite bland

I've not read them at all but my son (7 yr old) really enjoyed the books and the movie, I have had to try and explain all the Americanisms to him. He now draws his own comic strips, although he has now told me that he thinks it might be a graphic novel. Zoo wee mama! :)
