The Colour of Magic - Commodore 64

Postby Jinx » Sat Aug 16, 2008 8:43 am

I have found a Java version of the old Commodore 64 Discworld title, The Colour of Magic, on the internet. :D

So far I haven't even made my way out of the Broken Drum, yet.

You probably wont be interested to hear then, that the BEEB now hosts a version of the old Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text-adventure game on their site?

An older version can also be found on Douglas Adams' website http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocomjava.html

The Colour of Magic text adventure was crap, for sure!

As for the Hitchhiker's Guide text adventure, it was my first encounter with Douglas Adams' writings, so in that way it was brilliant (made me read the books), and it was quite funny as well (-ing difficult, though).

BTW, Jason...I knew I recognized your name from somewhere - I've been receiving Discworld Monthly for some time now. Brilliant stuff!

Does anyone else remember Shadowfax for the Commodore?

After Pong I thought that was magic!

Wasn't Shadowfax the horse from Lord of the Rings? :?

Yep - Shadowfax is Gandalf's ride of choice
