Wolfgang in Uberwald doing the Chase thing that he did with Vimes ... administering his own sense of justice...

Maybe someone has stolen some thing powerful that could be used against Werewolves ....

If you give me tips I don't mind running one ...

I feel a poll coming on.

Basic storyline's aren't so hard to do and there's a handy flash website that I used to cobble this together with the functions of the cops and the killers (these ones are pretty basic really - lots of roles and 'special powers' that can be used including a Necromancy function for the Town or the Mafia side where dead characters can be brought to life again  ). I've embroidered the gameplay a bit by allowing Gawpers which has worked reasonably well for A-M anyway.
As I said to pooh earlier really it's the players who write the story if you're going with a theme like with this one, which is the fun part for the narrator

You could do one at a Discworld Convention with all the people playing their real selves.

I never appear in public - I'm Queen Victoria :P That's sort of a fact - can't do crowds at all.

Someone else could though - 'Live' Mafia runs a lot quicker of course as you can lock all the players into a room until everyone's dead....

Atm my tastes run to Dark Lording it as he never bothers to appear in public and has loads of orcs to kick around and the Balrog to play with - much more therapeutic. Why d'you think I use this chap the whole time

You should try my fan-fic in the adult section in The Last Vanya - is Sauron through Brave New World to Big Brother. How the orcs might have been made but it's hard-core fantasy horror

Humble Pie anyone?

Donation to Alzheimers pooh? I hope you didn't drink the lot

As Carrot's having to be a little circumspect in the report I've included the current state of play so it's clear that the odds are now even and still no killers 'fingered' - we do however appear to have some liars present - 2 of them in fact... No matter what happens now someone will die tonight unless the Librarian has been extremely clever in his gameplay because he could of course be the target tonight...

Oooh no someone else that was innocent has been arrested? That's NOT on!
Still two killers lose? Are we NEVER to be safe in our beds. I demand to know WHAT COMMANDER VIMES IS GOING TO DO ABOUT IT!

It's a very difficult situation now and it's almost impossible for the City Watch to snatch victory - 2 on 2 and if, as is highly probable now, the killers bump someone off tonight then it really makes no difference whether it's a citizen or the Librarian who goes down because, as Messrs Teatime and Pin are deep in cahoots, then there can be only 1 outcome in the next vote phase as with only 3 people left the odds swing overwhelmingly in the killers favour...

Let's hope the Librarian has good lines of communication to the Watch House so Carrot & Co can make the final connections although any arrests may be difficult to effect...

In other words the outcome of this Night Phase will conclude the game. Best wishes to all the remaining contenders - you are all paragons at manipulating paranoia, even though some of you have been off the mark it's made for a very entertaining game

Guys - I'm off to get some shuteye and I won't be back on for most of tomorrow until 1700hrs (London) - so 17 hours hence.

I'll announce the outcome of the night phase as soon I'm able and assuming I have all the killer/cop decisions to hand by that stage I'll get the results up as quickly as I can

Don't be too hard on pooh - he's been as much in the dark as the rest of you and the killers in their own way have been as clueless in their mission to eliminate the cops (I don't count cols as that's down to 'no show' syndrome and just bad luck)... Ah nuts! Who'm I kidding?! Have a ball with recriminations

See ya later!

Just jump in and make the rules up as you go along.

Deja vu?

Oh but there are rules, I could have been a lot stricter as some forums who specialise in Mafia games have a whole array of do's and don't including revealing off-thread PMing and penalties for broadcasting them even if you're out of the game.

For instance the 'Gawping' participation condition is, so far as I know, a unique or very rare concession as generally non-players can't join in at all even off the main thread - but it fits A-M perfectly of course. That's before we even get to the various cop and killer roles you can factor in, except they're for high participation games which get a lot more vicious and unbiased.

This one was about as simple as I could get it as most people here were new to it and we've all had great fun and made it pretty complex and entertaining, which is the object after all - so well played everybody and here's hoping we get some more participants next time although I think keeping the Gawping in as an option does add to the general craziness and give 'environmental enrichment' for those who like throwing spanners into the works but can't spend too much time participating (or are too shy to get their toes wet!)
