Postby I like pie » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:22 am

As posted in my prior message, attached please see the signatures written in the books. Please provide an opinion as to if they appear geniune.

Please note that I did not have this books signed myself, only coincidence that we share the same first name.

Thank you,

I would say the one in Small Gods looks slightly iffy but that was how he did his "Tees" so may be genuine, the one in Moving Pictures looks Ok.

But his handwriting looks spot on, and the scythe matches the one Tony showed. I think it's genuine (although I've never seen a signature as fancy as that one).
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

I wish I had some earlier signatures to compare. These are (if genuine) early ones I think. The later ones I posted are almost a shorthand of the earlier ones. If you are signing hundreds or thousands of books, your signature is not going to stay identical and if these are genuine, they are rather more complex than the later ones.

It's possible that Colin Smythe, Terry's agent, may be able to give you a definitive answer. Personally,I'm inclined to think they are genuine - but who knows? :)

This copy of Terry's signature looks a lot like that second one of yours. :)

I checked the earlier sigs in my books from the long full ones to the shorter ones but not every book but about half of them.

Thank you all for your quick replies.

Doing a little happy dance right now  . It's nice to find a "diamond in the rough" if you will every once in a while.

I reckon they're both genuine, but as TP says, any book without his signature is probably more valuable because there're probably less!
