Borgia cop out...

Postby Jan Van Quirm » Fri Aug 23, 2013 3:46 pm

 I've really enjoyed the three series, despite the departures from historical fact (and no I don't mean the incest necessarily as it's never been substantiated one way or the other) but this final ever episode flaming well sucked!

Not only did Micheletto b*gger off again after saving the day (yummy Sean Harris - :icon-mrgreen: plus the character he's based on actually carried on henching for Cesare for several more years after the taking of Forli and in fact survived him) but we miss out on Lucretia getting married again and bossing the guts out of Naples thereby out-politicing both her father and brothers just because the producers whilst happy to show all the blood and guts and S&M presumably couldn't stand by their version enough to show more of the Lucretia-Cesare relationship to appease the Bible Belt lobby... *seethes*

The taming of Caterina Sforza was a great way to end the 3rd season, but this misses out the 'come-uppance' aspect when Daddy Dearest dies and it all unravels very quickly for Prince Cesare (after a fairly long period in which he ruled north western parts of Italy rather well) which would have made a brilliant 4th season - but no, that apparently is our lot, at least from what Sky was putting out...

Just about 'decent' if Cesare Borgia could be described that way...
