Watched it at the weekend.
Not really that impressed. Depp is brilliant but the plot was poorly put together and it wasn't that engaging. It also couldn't decide if it was comedy or serious .Last Samuri style scene with the Camanche was very dark but was surrounded by too much slap stick that it was just plain wrong

Every time I was just getting into the film, they would flash back to the kid who was listening to the story. I found it really off-putting and irritating as well which it ruined the film for me (I felt pretty much the same with ' The Neverending Story' and 'Princess Bride' as well).
The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.

Just caught up with this. I went with a friend and she only went with me to keep me company. As if!
However, my representaqtive from Meerkat Film Slanderers Ltd, plc and other stuff quoted:
The film was brilliant.
Loved the way the William Tell overture was included at all exciting parts.
Acting: JD was brilliant as per. You need a nutter like Tonto (asked a Spanish lady what it meant she said..."Idiot")
I think the guy drinking and eating the body was not as bad as the guy being sick.
The black humour suited it nicely.
The Comanche's were cheered as they came over the hill.
Shame the hip hugging Captain was a bertie! Well, he was wasn't he? Gave us a laugh though!
HBC was on form and I heard several ladies wondering where you could get a loaded false leg from at short notice.
AH is VERY handsome isn't he?
Silver should get an award as supporting actor.

Really, I enjoyed it immensely and it should never have been panned as it was.

Mind you, there's a lot of it about at the moment. I SWEAR something of the same nature is being done to The Hobbit. Cor, that wonderful Richard Armitage..... oh sorry. another story altogether.
