Could Philly's Jill Scott be headed back to "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" at some point?
It's way, way too soon to tell, but HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said Thursday that "we just got in drafts of two scripts" for movies based on the Alexander McCall Smith books that inspired the original HBO series.
"We're taking a look at them now," he added.
Scott starred in the 2009 show as private detective Precious Ramotswe, a Botswanan woman who uses her common sense about people and situations to solve her cases.
Before "No. 1" fans get their hopes up too far, talking about making movies out of HBO-canceled series doesn't always amount to much more than talk.
(See, "Deadwood," deader than the proverbial doornail.)
Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.
The rest of us are a bit crap.
