A NEW X Factor-style TV show has been launched in South Africa to find two new porn stars.
The winners of Porn Stars - one man and one woman - will land roles in adult magazine Hustler's end-of-year adult film and receive £450 each.

More than 1,000 horny hopefuls auditioned in Johannesburg and they are being whittled down to the 100 finalists.

They will compete at sex exhibition Sexpo in August and October in Durban and Johannesburg, where they will do their best to gain public votes by performing different live sex acts on stage.

They will also be assessed by the show's judges there, including strip club owner Perle van Schalkwyk and an executive from Hustler.

The budding porn stars must be 18 or over and are required to present a certificate proving they are free of any sexually transmitted diseases.

Producer Donovan van Wyngaard said he hopes the competition will find the new faces of South African pornography.

He said: "We never anticipated such a great response.

"It took us by surprise that such a large number of people would be interested in the show, but we are extremely pleased.

"The finalists will be performing sexual acts live on stage so people at the show can vote.

"A decision will be made as to who we choose as the lucky winners for the show."

Judge Schalkwyk said: "All different kinds of people entered the show, not the typical kind of people we expected.

"I'm sure all the people who entered think they are great at it - it will be interesting to see just how good they are.

"Maybe we will find the perfect porn star. Who knows?"

In this context we prefer the word 'deep' to 'low' :)

I'll bet if they did something similar in Britain - even if they had to perform live on TV - they'd get thousands of people entering to the contest.

I'm convinced that people will do anything to get a bit of fame.

Gawd, can you imagine that on a Saturday evening on one of your main free to view channels?

Now, a little bit of trivia for y'all. I am named for Bernard Quatermass, a character from a number of serials by a Manxman called Nigel Kneale. Now, in the early 1970s, Kneale wrote a play called The Year of the Sex Olympics. The only difference between their reality and ours? We did Big Brother first, and without the homicidal maniac.

I'm named for Dotsie. She's a minder for the seamstresses. They have a lot of sex.

I think there's a link to the dirty stuff wherever you look

But mine was relevant, as it dealt with reality TV. Ugh.

Look, here's the Wikipedia article for The Year of the Sex Olympics. And I got the year wrong, it was done in 1968. But it pretty much predicted Big Brother, not to mention this bollocks about porno reality TV, it just got the order wrong.

I'm called Willem. In the very first Big Brother ever worldwide (Dutch, ofcourse), a guy called Willem was bound to win until they showed some footage that put him in a very bad light.

How's that for a relevant link!
