True. And their phones come preloaded with all the numbers they may ever want to call, ever. Even of people they don't know yet.

Oh, that one really does annoy me.

In the dark and distant days when I used to watch EastEnders, any new character seemed to have everybody's mobile number within a day.

What a nice thread, and I love bad movies, too.

So "let's go"... :D

Yeah, but for the record: The girl always begins with the psycho, the most stupid, most egoistic, most nasty guy you can imagine, the guy you wonder how he even could get a/the girl in the first place at all (and, the more evil thought, which image of women the directors may have ).

The cell phones already are mentioned, also the very very bad coverage in movie land, but somebody already mentioned that modern people apparantly very very seldom have got a cell phone at all? Usually among a groupe of half a dozen teenies there is only one around (and this doesn't function).

In teenie slashers and horror movies the black guy always dies, also the gays.

Until now I have only seen one movie in which the black girl survives (she even has got a white boyfriend, also very rare in movie land), also (both!) lesbians. Okay, the drunkard/junkie get killed, but everybody have a cell phone and this cell phones even worked, AND the girl has got the brainpower NOT to cry at phone "Help, help, we are chased by monsters!", instead she mentions a hijacking.
Hadn't it been for the really really stupid looking monster effects you nothing would have had to shake your head about.

Ah, and the perhaps most important rule in movie land ever:

If your plan fails and you know why it failed and you even would be able to fix the problem nevertheless you never ever are allowed to try the same plan a second time! :naughty: :naughty:

Nobody ever cries properly in movies. You never see more than a single tear rolling down :ugeek:

^ :D Jim Carey did it best in Lemony Snicket when you see him squirt the liquid tears in first.

Anyway, everyone's phone number always begins with 555.

Wiki:

Not all numbers that begin with 555 are fictional—for example, 555-1212 is one of the standard numbers for directory assistance throughout the United States and Canada. In fact, only 555-0100 through 555-0199 are now specifically reserved for fictional use - except for the 800 area code where only 800-555-0199 is reserved - the other numbers have been released for actual assignment. The entire 555 exchange is reserved in all overlay North American toll-free area codes (844, 855, 866, 877, 888)[1] and in Canada's rarely-used non-geographic area code 600.

Area code 555 in the North American Numbering Plan is reserved for Directory Assistance applications.
