I could get to Tavistock by public transport (without needing a bank loan) but as I live 6 miles from any bus route it would mean a taxi into Launceston. Bus to Plymouth (or possibly Callington via Gunnislake
), bus out of Plymouth to Tavistock and I'd have to get to Tavie around 5pm and kick my heels for a couple of hours.
However this is totally moot since there's no late bus back to Plymouth/Callington or from there back to Launceston so the housemate would have to pick me up anyway...![]()
Or I could hitch-hike I suppose
Glad you are going to see it, Jan.
There is no direct bus route from where I live to Tavi either. Here to Plymouth, then Plymouth to Tavi.
Thank goodness for a daughter who drives. I hope she enjoys it after me twisting her arm to take me. She isn't into Terry Pratchett at all.
It'll take us about half an hour to get to Tavi, we go regularly for the fleamarket, we are going early & will have something to eat in Morrisons, their café doesn't close until 8 p.m. Thursday's, which is very handy.
