Thunderbirds was better than Stingray (IMO), but the only video's I have are of Watch With Mother and Terrahawks ... and DangerMouse, and Ivor The Engine ...
It's funny, looking up those videos on YouTube today has made me realise that for years I've mixed up Twizzle and Torchy. I was sure the "Cat with the silkiest fur" was from Torchy, but he's in Twizzle - it was the poodle that was in Torchy.

I proclaim this thread well and truly derailed. :P

Oh I dunno - with Torchy you're bound to see the Light

I the "What do you collect" section I mentioned I collected cine camera's and paraphernalia - of which is a copy of a(n edited) episode of "Super Car", which is pre Fireball XL5. It is still in its box, but it is quite tatty. I played it once.

Now that really is early, I have never seen any of Supercar, my first experience of Gerry Anderson was Fireball XL5 and I was hooked from there.
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

I can remember Supercar, but not very well. The pilot was named Mike Mercury and he had a pet monkey. Fireball XL5 had Steve Zodiac and a robot named Robert.

Anderson's shows got to be so popular that Lew Grade, the then head of ITV, used to give him carte blanche to spend pretty much however much he liked. The shows were made in Britain in colour before Britain had colour TV because they could easily be sold in the US. :D

Captain Black. What an anti-hero! :D
Dressed in black, bags under his eyes and unshaven. Looked like a serious party animal just coming down from a three-day bender. 8)

His first name was probably Reg.

Francis Matthews was Captain Scarlet and Ed Bishop (who later starred in Anderson's U.F.O.) was Captain Blue.

I see Dr Who has recently pinched the idea of Skybase from Captain Scarlet.

Has anyone seen the CGI New Captain Scarlet that came out in 2005?

It's the first I've heard of it. :?

NO, NO, NO!

That's not Captain Scarlett! That's just a commercial for a whole bunch of toys for kids to buy with crappy characters.
(And Lt. Green's had a sex change! )

Captain Black was my favourite character!
I always felt the Mysterons were justified in attacking Earth, as Earth fired the first shot on Mars.
