American Pie/How I Met Your Mother

Postby DaveC » Tue Aug 03, 2010 1:24 pm

Watching American Pie 2 and Casey Affleck's character as Myer's brother feels really similar to Barney from How I Met Your Mother -

-same clothes
-both say 'legendary'
-and both seem to be the ultimate 'bro' giving sex/relationship advice.

Probably the most random thread ever!?!?

And, of course, Alyson Hannigan is in both!!

Mmmm... Willow...

Having said that, I'd rather cut Detritus's toenails than watch an American Pie fillum.

The American Pies aren't as bad as some of the, excuse the pun, doppelgangers that followed. They have pretty good character arc throughout the trilogy, especially for Jim/Alysson Hannigan.

The straight to DVD sequels, though, are cack.

Bunnies aren't so cute as everybody supposes.
They got them floppy ears and twitcy little noses.
And what's with all the carrors?
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
Bunnies! Bunnies! It must be bunnies!!!!!

Not one of my favourite eppys, I have to admit. Very clever though, that Saint Joss of Whedon.

This from Tabula Rasa:

(Spike)

Dad can drive. He's bound to have some classic midlife-crisis transport. Something red, shiny, shaped like a penis.

I did see the first half hour of the first one, then walked out. I guess it didn't help that the missus was in a foul mood that day.
