Not much of a GoT fan (i'm sure that'll change once I've seen the show though. ) but that was still pretty funny.

Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.

The rest of us are a bit crap.

He's also editing about 49 anthologies and writing 74 comic books as well as blogging about American football etc.

Annoying though his slow work is, I can actually sympathise, being a writer myself. And he's a far better writer than me. He should take his time where it is needed.
I've lived for over 2000 years, and not all of them were good ones. I've made many mistakes. And it's about time I did something about that.

Definitely better to get as good a book as he can out but not great to die before your work is finished .

As Shigeru Miyamoto very nearly said, a late book may be late until it's released, but a bad one is bad forever. :P

Unlike Frank Herbert, he doesn't have kids, AFAIK.

Even so, while his later A Song of Ice and Fire books may not be published in the event of his demise, he has apparently given the makers of Game of Thrones enough info so that they can conclude the TV show appropriately.

I'd rather his interpretation first than HBO's but we shall see what happens. Fingers crossed for a book next year .

Tell like it is, best way Bouncy I should think the the guy was quite young and he thinks it's a doddle just to sit down and write something, he may be a little more appreciable in future about his favorite authors.
