Flash and Bones by Kathy Reichs.

Ohh, haven't read a single one of the Kathy Reichs books, but I intend to change that... are they any good?

I think they are great. I tried to read a couple of Patricia Cornwell books, but those are dreadful. Kathy grabs the reader right away. There is a huge amount of laugh-out-loud humour in them and, thank the gods you can't smell the story.

I am currently in a frenzy of Scandinavian crime fiction!

In fact I lie, I have had a soft spot for the genre for a long time and have just started reading heaps of it. Authors like Stieg Larsson, Jo Nesbo and Mons Kallentoft.

Has anyone else been in a Scandinavian crime frenzy?

G'day UnseenTP, I read Stieg Larssons' Millennium Trilogy one after the other. Dunno that it was a frenzy but I became fairly immersed in the story.

He's not a crime writer but I do tend to read John Lindqvist at a quick pace, his books are a firm favourite. I have Little Star to read, it's the next book on my book pile. Looking forward to it.

Just finished reading Doctor Who: The Wheel of Ice, by The Long Earth co-author Stephen Baxter. It was actually excellent. He writes very well, and he captured the Second Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe quite well.

The Woman Who Died A Lot by Jasper Fforde. Nearly finished so then I have Plum Spooky to squeeze in before it has to go back to the Library.

Sky Dragons by Anne & Todd McCaffrey, written before Anne died & it was at the publishers when we very sadly lost her.
It's good, Ive nearly finished it, but I think the writing is mainly Todd, he has a different slant on Pern to his late Mum.

Gave a fair shot at reading Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead. It's about a wedding between two wealthy families, all their drama and hang-ups. It's boring, the writing is poor and none of the characters are likeable.

Nearly finished so then I have Plum Spooky to squeeze in before it has to go back to the Library.

If you like Plum Spooky, once you read the rest of this particular series I recommend moving onto the "Wicked ___" series by Evanovich which mixes characters from the "Plum" series with a new Stephanie-like heroine and setting.

I really liked the two books that i've read from them, sadly there aren't any more that have been translated into Estonian.

I'm going to continue reading the True blood series by Charlaine Harris. I have read the first three books and the fourth one is unfinished.

I've recently read a few good books, including Agatha H and the Clockwork Princess by Phil and Kaja Foglio (a novelisation of the second main story arc of the Girl Genius webcomic) and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (think The Jungle Book meets The Nightmare Before Christmas).
