I'm reading and loving 'The Amber Spyglass' by Philip Pullman. Interesting book to read after The Long Earth.

About a hundred pages into Half Sick of Shadows (my reading pace has slowed for some reason 
)
Not bad actually. Very different to Apocalypse cow but really readable.
The main character is quite likeable and is developing in an interesting way.
The use of language and innocence through a young narrator reminds me of The Book Thief or The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
Tha author is a little over descriptive at the start but gets over this and so far the book is flowing well
