Welcome to the forum nijntje
Getting an education was a bit like a communicable sexual disease. It made you unsuitable for a lot of jobs and then you had the urge to pass it on.

Look, you've got it all wrong! You don't NEED to follow ME, You don't NEED to follow ANYBODY! You've got to think for your selves! You're ALL individuals!

1. Night Watch (Vimes is there).
2. Men at Arms (same reason).
3. Guards! Guards! (same reason, yeah I adore Sam Vimes).
4. The Colour of Magic (Rincewind kicks a*s).
5. Witches Abroad (I want them as my private bodyguard).

I'm only as far as interesting times but so far I like, in no particular order...

1 Reaper man
2 Lords and ladies
3 Soul music
4 Guards! Guards!
5 Moveing Pictures

*Eight heraldic wooden hippos line the bridge, facing out to sea. It is said that if danger ever threatens Ankh-Morpork, they will run away...*

Night Watch - Still Terry's best, IMO.
Unseen Academicals - Runs Night Watch really close.
Carpe Jugulum - Granny's speech to Death about what it means to live at the edges of things would be enough in itself, but the fact that the rest of the book is so excellent as well means it's well worth its place.
The Last Continent - For me, Terry's outright funniest book. The scene with the Drop Bears is sublimely silly and one of the funniest things I've ever read.
The Colour of Magic - As a huge fan of Fritz Leiber, Robert E. Howard and Swords & Sorcery in general this always makes me smile.

* Correction - Carpio diem
