It was indeed - but as I said, that was in a US proof copy and the section had been changed when it was published properly - in US and UK versions.

)
1 inch= 2,54cm
1 foot= 30 cm
1pound=453 gram or nearly half a kilo :wink:

That's right, the liquid measure is different, and that caused me some rather strange cooking mistakes when I first went to the States.

The US pint is 16oz and the UK pint is 20 oz.

So a US Gallon is 20% smaller than the British one, which makes the fuel calculation strange when talking about petrol prices! :lol:

I was very tempted when I was in Phoenix to ask for a pint that was not a pint,but did not want to confuse the barstaff.

It just meant I had to drink more to make up the shortfall. :lol:
