The Discworld Almanak

Postby purpleprincess » Tue Dec 15, 2009 8:01 pm

Hoping someone can help me.

I got my copy of the Discworld Almanak when it first came out. However, in my copy the cover of the book was upside down (not that I'm complaining). I was wondering if this had happened to anybody else, as so far I have been unable to find any mentioned of it.

Hi purpleprincess

What you've got there is the Australian version.

(I too have the UK version)

If it's a paper cover, can't you just take it off, turn it the right way, and put it back round the book?

:?

Only with the Dutch version, the Australian version has hard cardboard bindings. Mind you, if you spill one little drop of water on the Dutch version, all the pages get stuck together. :(

Discworld Almanak

Postby purpleprincess » Wed Dec 16, 2009 6:13 pm

Cheers all

I got it as a present from my mother-in-law. She bought it on Amazon when it came out. She was for returning it (thank god she didn't) because the hard cover was on the wrong way. So far haven't been able to find anyone else that got one the same as mine.

I would have kept it if it were "original" because it could wind up being worth a fortune later... misprints and all... stamps... misprinted coins... erm, I shall shut up now as my health may be in danger. LOL
Aha! So, Bob's yer uncle... very clever.

My God Purpleprincess! That's a rather striking avatar you've got.

The Almanak is a bit like a DW diary. It came out in 2005 (possibly - can't be bothered to check) and has loads of info about DW in and when is the best time to plant cabbages and all the star groups etc etc.
