Just been told that they have no slots for surgery on Saturday, so it will be next Wednesday.

Probably true. If I'm in for 2 nights then I'll probably get kicked out Friday or Saturday, which would be easier for travel home.

Sorry you have to wait, but if midweek works out better, that's good. Still sending you lots of hugs!

Oh, by the way.

They're going to stick a very thin metal wire (hairs breadth, so they say) into each boob before the operation, and put some blue dye in.

Naturally, my first mental image was a dark and stormy night, with wires in my boobs, and lightening flashing between them.

Up yours, Igor!!

The result of this will be that I have blue boobs for several months, and for the 1st day or so afterwards... pee blue.

I told the surgeon and the cancer nurse about Terry and his blue pee, and his "I love this planet" comment, and they both rolled up with laughter!!

Hey Bouncy - turning into a Kelda for a bit sounds like a bonus ;)

Damn, you beat me to it.
So, wires? Is that a special use of the word I'm not used to or do they apply the dye separately? Wouldn't they rather use a cannula for that?
I'd be interested in the story about Terry, too.

Apparently, Terry had blue pee after some procedure or other.

He was in the gents at a convention, and the guy next to him at the urinal was somewhat astonished, and Terry said "I love your planet".
