I'm sure this must have been done before, but I couldn't find anything in the last 6 months so here goes.

"I think it was Sir Alker Tripp who observed that the only thing calculated to make running [a ship] aground more embarrassing is uncertainty about which continent is involved."

That could only have been written by Terry, only it seems to be real-life, according to Alan Binns in Viking Voyagers (1980). It has a good recipe for Norwegian Cod Stew in it somewhere, too.
