If an elephant fell sick?
Earthquakes, storms, an all out risk to the Disc?
And who would present the cure - would it be Witch, Wizard or a do or die case for the Watch?

I imagine Leonard da Quirm would be summoned by the Patrician to make a vehicle and convince Granny Weatherwax ( I can't be having with that) to use Headology on 'em.

Thank you, I think I am going to enjoy myself in here. I am popping into hospital later this week to have a new hip fitted but suspect that this place may well help recovery very well.

Well blow me down! I never knew nelly-pants ate hay. :shock:

I thought they ate banananananas and such like. I googled elephant food and got this.

"God made all the animals including the elephant..... In a zoo, an elephant may primarily eat hay along with treats like apples, carrots, lettuce and honeydue melon."

(Mind you it says nothing about the wheels God originally used before Ponder suggested legs :lol:

Never mind what the elephants eat ~ what the hell does Great A'tuin eat?!

Seriously* I reckon the disc would be in trouble if one fo the elephants fell ill ...I mean, think of the fifth elephant who was said to have crashed into the disc ...If an elephant got oestoproitis (spelling optional there,) and couldn't support the disc anymore, there'd be earthquakes and he would eventually tumble (or be pushed?) out into the void. How then would an elephant be replaced?

Bearing all of this in mind I think perhaps that the elephants are anthropmorphic deities like Death and War etc ~ A'tuin as we know from The Light Fantastic is a living being to have produce new worlds....But this again leads me back to the scary question of what the hell does A'tuin eat?!

At our local Wildlife Park large branches are put in the enclosure from time to time, so the elephants can eat the leaves and bark.
