hugs Rap. Tony's said it as it is, as usual.

*HUGS* from me as well Rap and Joolz.

Rap: I totally agree with what Tony said.

Joolz: That is a seriously bad day you've had. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and, like Janet says, the vast majority are benign.

Rap, feeling numb is to be expected, given the circumstances.

Sorry to hear your news. Joolz.

Boy, that's quite the news Rap.

Makes me think of my relationship with my dad and how I would feel. I cut him out of my life about 3 years ago.

(((((Healing Vibes and some relaxing ones, for the Joolz family)))))

Rap, my oldest son went through something like that, his father didn't claim him, until the state came after him for money, and his mother had told the entire family that I was off in the head until one year when an Aunty in her '70s spoke up when I was dropping him off and she said "What do you mean that child isn't Jimmy's?" "Why he looks just like Jimmy!"

It lead to a lot of oddness and with my son being forced to visit him twice a month. He was more confused and hurt by the crap that he heard in that household. You were spared that. It hurts when you are little. It leaves you with more unanswered questions. At least he was curious, that is better than completely indifferent.

Numb and detached is a normal reaction in your situation. Time will put the pieces in proper form. Perhaps you will cry and perhaps not.

(((((Hugs and Healing/Loving Vibes to you sweetie)))))

I brought a big jar of hugs to all those who need them, to have now or maybe use later, when feelings have settled, or when everybody's feeling better!
Listen.

Not great, I swap country exclusive Steiff bears with Cathy Steffes in America so she gets the UK ones for her shop and I get the American ones for mine but I had an email today from her husband to tell me that she has died of cancer. She had never even mentioned to me that she was ill in all the times I spoke or emailed her so it came as a complete surprise :(
One of those? Oh I'm sure I have one somewhere..

Hugs Rap! As everyone said, there's no wrong way to feel about this.

And huge hugs for you too Mad. I'm so sorry about your friend. :(

Sorry to hear your news, Mad. I can understand why she didn't tell you, though.
When you have a major illness or condition, you want to be treated normally, and a lot of people see the illness first and the person second.

Some people like to keep that stuff to themselves. alot of times for the reason batty mentioned. but it means it can come as a shock to other when the time comes. I wish her family well.

So sorry to hear about your friend, Mad. Not surprised that she didn't mention her illness. It's never the right moment somehow. Not something to throw into a conversation casually. Also, there's always the thought that the person hearing the news will be upset. I never told my dad when I had my treatment. He never knew.
I'm slightly relieved today to finally know when my friend's funeral will take place (Monday) There was a long delay due to coroner's inquest (she fell at home)
