How are things there today Mad? I know you had snow this morning. Is the water level still rising?

The river is up another 2 feet in the last 6 hours it should peak tomorrow afternoon unless the rain continues. Still the barriers are up so we have to hope they will be sufficient

Much happier

It's still raining but the river is coping, the level has fallen 3 inches this afternoon so it looks like the worst of it has passed without too much trouble apart from a few properties directly over the river from me. This video was taken yesterday before the river peaked this morning. The house at the beginning is directly opposite my shop

This is the normal water level

Down another 3 inches since I posted above. It's still above where it was when the video was taken but if it keeps going down then it should be back to that level by mid morning tomorrow :D

I think I miss out on going to the pub tonight though

Good news Mad! About the water going down, not the pub.

Hope the water levels continue to fall, Mad. And I hope the pub drys out soon. Must be awful for them to have their business affected like that :(

Today I am aching after a 12 hour marathon Saturday of DIY & decorating, including assault course wallpapering. H's bedroom is quite small and has a metal framed high bed with storage space under it. The bed was a total mare to build a couple of years back so there was no way I was taking it apart to do the papering. But it meant we had to continually clamber under it and round it to be able to get the papering done.

So today I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to do nothing as I ache so much
