Short Story competitions?

Postby bennythedog » Fri Oct 11, 2013 11:45 pm

hi not sure if this is the correct forum to post this but just a couple of queries...

one regarding the First Novel competition - will there be another one soon? (not that I think id be able to write a full novel!)

Also does anyone know if there will be (or has been) Terry Pratchett Short Story competitions? (like the First Novel comp) If not where do you think the best place to submit SF/Fantasy short stories are?

I have a SF/Horror/quirky/eerie short story ive been working on and am trying to figure out the best place to submit it - ive researched quite a few - Analog, Magazine of Fantasy&SF, Weird Tales etc but just wondering what people here think. Ideally id like to save it for a TP competition or submission

I'm not aware of any short story competitions that have anything to do with Terry Pratchett. That doesn't mean there isn't one - just that I haven't heard of one.

there is http://nanowrimo.org/ (National Novel Writing Month. which is november) but it's not a competition just a charity thing.

thats really the only one I know of.
