Yay! Congrats to Ava!
...and the horse! Can't have been comfortable in that heat
I know! I'm still kind of surprised she didn't cancel lessons. The girls got to hose the horses down afterwards though, that was good.
Bet the horses liked that!. I used to have a fluffy shetland pony who loved having a bucket of water tipped over her in hot weather.
And my sister and I owned the worlds most chilled out pony when we were in out teens. Called Cobby he was so lovely and gentle. he loved the hose and as soon as it was turned un, wanted to bit the end to drink out of it!
Remembering the fun that Cobby brought has made me smile today.
Heres some (very) old photos of him - a bit small I'm afraid cos that's how they were scanned and sent to me.
Cobby having a snooze while my sister tries to get him to agree to get up and do some work.
chillin in the field
in action jumping - he wasn't always the fastest with straight line speed, but I used to do a lot of behind the scenes training with him in the field, so that he was so agile he could land from a jump and turn immediately. He won a few competitions like that against much more expensive, better bred, younger horses. Cobby had no breeding papers, we weren't even sure what breed he was but think he was Irish cob/Connemara, and was approaching retirement when we owned him, but he just enjoyed life.
