Well Dug, floristry is a long way from what I do, so I'm not sure what's in the sachet but i always assumed it was a compound to add to the vase to inhibit the growth of bacteria which causes rotting and makes the water smell evil ;) Seems to work if that's the case. I got some birthday flowers and they lasted nearly 3 weeks.

From what I can tell, the sachets mainly contain: sugar, an anti-fungicide (similar to household bleach) and some sort of mild acid such as citric.

I had a great time and came back with several new bears for the shop and one for me :D

For the technically minded he is a one off collectors bear. 38cm (15") Black curly mohair dark topaz glass eyes. Flexible arms with nut & bolt joints.
