Charity Auction - Saturday - last call for distance bids!

Postby Periwinkle » Thu Jun 20, 2013 9:16 am

Hi Folks
Periwinkle here - this Saturday 7-11pm in The Bear, Wincanton is our Midsummer Masked Fairy Ball hosted by the Queen of the Elves!

As part of this - if you cannot make it to the Ball we are having a charity auction - for the Yeovil Hospital Flying Colours Appeal - premature baby unit.

We have some lovely 'Lots' including a film prop from 'Going Postal' - Lord Vetinari's controversial 'Thud' board! Paul Kidby has donated a signed print of 'Evenstar' ! We have many dragons, donations from Mythcast, Artists like Jasmine Beckett-Griffiths, Nancy Farmer and Matt Dixon. Do take a look!

To distance bid if you cant make it to the ball simply pm me with your maximum bid and I will put you 'on the book' for the auction - successful distance bidders will be contacted on June 24th for payment and we will arrange pick up or post it to you. Happy Bidding!

I have PMed her about the broken link.

I hope the auction goes well. Sounds like some great stuff there.

Ok turns out the link is fine but you need a facebook account to view it. I refuse to give in to facebooks.

Yes, she same link is posted on the CA site. People have asked for a link that works and I have asked for the link to be updated here.

I nearly crumbled regarding FaceBorg the other day when a bunch of people I chat with on the kitten site, tried to persuade me. But I was resolute.

It depends how you use it - my reading group friends set up a page which was useful, and also I get notified if anyone puts up a picture of me. If it's not flattering I remove the tags so that I'm not identified.

I can't be bothered with status updates though. They're always boring.
What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Peri, I think you just need to change the setting on the Facebook item to "Public".

It is on public Tony
Anyway, Thanks my lovelies - we raised a staggering £1273.61 on Saturday evening at the Midsummer Masked Fairy Ball!
It has been done once - now it has to be a tradition - so I'm told, well, maybe Bi-Annually when there isnt a Con! :D

Discworld Monthly on facebook is great fun, full of interesting characters. Some of us might even be sane...
