A quick update on jimmy the Cat - he's 18 months old now and fully grown, a proper cat, very laid back - very cool in fact, ne doesn't fawn or beg, not overly affectionate: he does his thing and we do ours and I think in his mind we're all pretty much equal.

I'd resisted putting a bell on him because, you know, I kinda think that hunting is a cat's natural right... but he was cutting such a bloody swath through the neighbourhood's wildlife; every night a little bird or mouse or something - once he brought home a pigeon, nearly as big as him: a London pigeon, mind, and some of those have been known to carry knives... anyway, I reconsidered and we put a little tinkalinka bell on his collar. It didn't make any difference; he hunts just as well with it.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? ~~ Oddball

:lol: We tried putting a bell on one of our family kitties for the same reason, with the same results. Would love to see a picture of Jimmy.

This title of this vid is somewhat misleading, but it's still amazing. :)

That was amazing, but dear god! That could have gone so wrong. What a bunch of idiots. Who stands there filming, letting their kids and pets so close to alligators?! :evil: The cats could have been eaten in one gulp and the kids could have been really injured. What a nice video that would have made. Jerks.

I have to share this photo of a friend of mine's new kitten. Talk about relaxed. :)

Quick story about what happened today;

We are having the front of the house painted so the front door was left open for the fellow doing the work. The ginger cat from two doors down decided to walk in and went straight through to the kitchen, ignoring all of us as though we weren't there and generally acting as if she owned the place. She proceeded to look around and upon realizing that there was no food to be had, simply turned around and walked out the way she came (although she did give me a vaguely disdainful look as she exited). I can understand how people can acquire cats by accident (or cats acquire people). :lol:
